  • Happy New Year

Well I hope everyone had a safe and Happy New Year's eve.  I was visiting Mom and Dad again this weekend and we had some really good times together this weekend.  We ate catfish at Calfee's Cafe off Hwy 21 near the Texas/Louisiana border for lunch.  Saturday evening, Mom, Dad and I were at a concert in Pineland Texas, Bethel Baptist Church and saw HisSong.  This very young group of men were very good singers and we enjoyed listening to their music and ministry and the food afterwards was good also.

Sunday we were at the Rosevine Church of God and we had a very good service with special singing also.  There wasn't an evening service, so Dad and I went to Shawnee Church in Huntington Texas for another concert.    They had some real good local talent at their church, and the singing was good.  There were several special singers, duets, the Stanleys, HisSong, Randy Miller.  Heather Heart, eighteen and Keri Len Spivey (8 years old) were very good local singers also.  We just had a great time in the Lord with all the special singing and music.

We just had a grand time celebrating the ending of 2006 and the start of 2007 with singing, music and church fellowship.  God is great and greatly to be praise.  What a great way to close out the year and bring in the new year by praising God with music and fellowship.

  • Merry Christmas

I want to wish all my family, everyone from all the Bell's and Johnston's and below, a very Merry Christmas and a great and safe New Year in 2007.  I wish I could have had a chance to visit with everyone during the holidays, but I just couldn't.  But I want everyone to know that even though I didn't get to see you, I want everyone to know that I love all my families.  I wish them all the very best during the holidays and the New Year.

I hope and pray that everyone was able to attend their place of worship this weekend and give God the praise and glory and honor he deserves.  You know, "Jesus is the reason for the season", and I hope everyone took the opportunity.  Happy Birthday Jesus.

I was out of town visiting Mom and Dad's house on Friday night, and the young people from Rosevine Church of God put on a Christmas musical play for everyone that was really good.  We had refreshments afterwards and the food was very good.   Saturday we just took it easy, went to town (Walmart), and took it easy again that evening.  Sunday we had some great singing and praises for Christ's birthday, and that evening we had a candlelight service that was very good also.  Sunday after service we did most of out gift swapping.

Franky and I are back home again and getting some needed rest before I'm off to work tomorrow.  We just had a great time visiting family and celebrating the birth of Christ and honoring and thanking him for all he has done for us.  Please remember to always put Christ first in your life, and let's keep him in Christmas.

  • Gospel Truth Church had their Christmas banquet Saturday night at Steak & Ale.  We were able to get their large room set up for private parties and we all had a great time in the Lord.  The food was good.  The skits were good.  We had all kinds of door prises and I think everyone had a great time tonight.  The Pastor recognized some special people that were doing special things around the church and they were all given a big appreciation by all that was there.  We just had a grand time tonight.

The above picture is the MISSILE loaded down with chicken, steaks, turkey legs, sausage links and boudin.  We really ate good this day and Sis. Vickie has her plate loaded down with some good food.

  • LarryRamseyFreeman This is Cousin Larry (Ramsey) Freeman.  Larry now lives in Jasper Texas and was over visiting Dad's house Labor Day weekend.  We were bbqing that weekend, also celebrating Dad's birthday, and he was there visiting and was able to enjoy some of the festivities and good food.

  • rickycuttinggrass The wife caught me just finishing up the yard on my new riding lawn mower with a 50 inch cut.  It sure was nice being able to cut all the grass in about 30-40 minutes instead of the push mower in 2-3 hours.

  • dadhuntinggoffer You know, most of the time Dad will use a trap to catch a mole, goffer or any other critter thats digging up the yard, but I think this time he thought the critter was close to the top as we saw dirt moving close to the surface.  Well the mole lived for another day.  Dad wasn't able to kill this one, but the other day he trapped and caught/killed 13 of those hole drilling critters.  But he told me he still has a bunch more to kill.  So he will continue to put traps out for them, and put away the pistol for now.
